I was one of those patients that disliked going to the dentist. My mother working in the dental field always made sure we had our teeth cleaned every 6 months. She made sure my sister, brother and I always had a clean and healthy mouth.
I didn’t want to be in the dental field first, until I took the nursing program and realized that it wasn’t for me. I wanted to be able to help and care for people so I decided to give dentistry a chance. Since I was on the waiting list for the certified dental assisting program, I decided to take the dental reception program. I took the program at Vancouver Community College and that is when I realized that dentistry was for me. I started out working at a pediatric dental office in 1996 and then I was hired by Dr. Marcy Schwartzman in 2000 and that made by life complete. I found the office that I was looking for. The enthusiasm and positive attitude helps make this office a positive place to be in. The care and devotion we give to our patients makes it the place I want to be forever. Coming to work everyday with the enthusiastic and caring co-workers, who all have the same goals and motivations as myself towards preventative dentistry, makes me feel satisfied at the end of the day about my position as a Office Manager.
Outside of my dental family, my husband and I share a daughter. She keeps us on our toes and fills our life with joy and laughter. Having a big Indian family we are always busy doing family gatherings to family vacations all around the world.

I have worked in dentistry for more than 20 years, starting as a Certified Dental Assistant in California and moving to administration after 2 years.
I am very privileged to work with such a wonderful team that makes oral health a priority as well as making everyone a smile they can be proud of.
Our staff and patients make it easy to come to work every day!
I have been a part of Marcy’s dental team since I graduated my dental assisting program from VCC in 2010 and working here was actually my first CDA job.
One of the most satisfying things about working here is that many new patients ,young and old ,come to our office with previous history of bad dental experiences and so often we are able to calm their fears, answer their questions and help make coming to the dentist a positive overall experience for them. I love interacting with our patients and working alongside friends who have become family over the years. When I’m not at the office I enjoy spending my time in the kitchen, running (thanks to Dr.Durward!), and watching pretty much any and all major sports.
Lee-Ann graduated from VCC’s dental hygiene school after completing her science degree at UBCO. Her priority is to provide the best care possible and to ensure her patients’ smiles are healthy. I was born and raised in Iran, when I was 17, I moved to Europe where I studied and traveled for 6 years. During my time in Europe I stayed with cousin who was a dental student in Sweden, he inspired me to start a career in the dental industry. After my experience in Europe I moved to Canada and started my life in Toronto where I went to hygiene school and graduated in 1999. In 2003 I got married to my husband Amir who I met in Toronto.
I give pride in providing excellent service to my patients as I believe that is the most important aspect of my career. I joined Marcy Schwartzman’s dental office because they are a group of empowering woman that thrive on providing the quality of service I believe in. Since working here, I have experienced the essence of working in a team environment and meeting patients of diverse culture which has enhanced my career as a whole.
